Staff ReportLAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed the station house officer concerned to register a First information Report (FIR) against the men who abducted two men including Union Council-9 Councillor Javed Masih of Muridke.The court issued the direction while disposing of a habeas corpus petition moved by Naseem Anjum advocate. The petitioner alleged that some local criminals and influential people abducted Javed on May 7 from his village Koti Tohil tehsil in Muridke. During his detention Javed and his friend were allegedly kept in chains and severely beaten. The alleged motive for the abduction was an old conflict regarding the destruction of a church wall and Javed’s role in defending the case. The court deputed a bailiff who recovered the detainees from Adian tehsil. They were taken to Mayo Hospital but were not medically examined. The petitioner said both the men had been hospitalised and were being kept under medical observation owing to their poor health. The accused have been identified as Mohammad Khan, Mohammad Usman, Mohammad Iftikhar, Mohammad Zulfiqar, Mohammad Manzoor and Jimmy.
